On January 25, 2018 Goodwill LEADS, Inc. held a dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting for the new Excel center in Hammond, Indiana. The Excel Center is a free, public high school serving students 18 and older with year-round accelerated classes.
Powers & Sons provided Design-Build Services for the 1600 SF interior build-out of The Excel Center in Hammond, Indiana. Scope of work included the construction of classrooms, offices, breakrooms, a lounge area, and restrooms. This design-build project also included management of the design team.
“There are more than 51,000 adults in Lake County who are without a high school diploma. The Excel Center is a response to that need,” said Goodwill’s President, Debie Coble.
The Excel Center gives students opportunities for workforce development in surrounding communities and better prepares them to be productive employees and enhance the companies that hire them.
