West Perry Branch

6650 South Harding Street

  • Location: Indianapolis
  • Completed: June 2021
  • Delivery method: Construction Management/General Contractor

The 25,000 SF new West Perry Library fills what was previously a gap in services available for residents in a growing township on the south side of Indianapolis. The facility was recognized by the AIA in 2021 with its Cleveland Design Award.

This Indianapolis Public Library branch features a spacious, accessible front entry with adult, teen, and children’s areas, 120-seat community room, 30 computer workstations, comfortable reading nooks, small-group study rooms, information desk, a fireplace with fire-side seating, and an outdoor patio.

Located on a six-acre site, the grounds include a 100-space parking lot and drive-through materials drop-off lane. Power for 80% of the library is provided by solar panels and other energy-efficient features are included. Professional landscaping featuring native species, pedestrian walks, and a storm water detention pond surround the building. LEED Silver Certification is being pursued.

Powers & Sons is honored to continue our partnership with the Indianapolis Public Library on its new Glendale Branch, expected to open in 2023.
