Powers & Sons renovated 7,100 SF of interior and exterior space for the University of Chicago’s Green Line Arts Center East (GLACE) at 323-329 East Garfield Boulevard.

Our work included demolishing four existing store fronts, extensive interior renovations, and building a new 150-seat community theatre. The Powers team constructed rehearsal space, dressing rooms, main stage, and restrooms. We also installed theatrical lighting and tiered theatre seating.

Intended to enhance the cultural and economic vibrancy of Washington Park , GLACE is a platform for artistic expression and community gatherings.
