INDY OFFICE GIVING DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON

This Christmas season, the Powers & Sons Indianapolis Office partnered with the Edna Martin Christian Center to help a family in need. Team members purchased clothing items, shoes, a basketball goal, dishes, bedding and much more to fulfill the family’s wish list.

A special thank you to the Indy team members who donated and participated in wrapping gifts. Also, a special thank you to Coy Tate, Keith Shanklin, Jesse Langebartels and Dylan Etheridge for delivering the gifts. Giving back is so rewarding and Powers & Sons was happy to help make a family’s holiday special.

LA CASA NORTE ANNUAL TOY DRIVE

This past holiday season, Powers & Sons partnered with our friends at La Casa Norte for their annual Toy Drive to help bring joy to the lives of more than 400 children and teens in the La Casa Norte programs.

La Casa Norte is one of Chicago’s key providers of services to homeless youth and families with more than 14 years of proven effectiveness in the community. La Casa Norte currently serves approximately 2,000 individuals yearly.

Powers & Sons, plus matching team member contributions, donated $1500 in gifts to support La Casa Norte’s Solid Ground Transitional Housing and Casa Corazon Emergency Shelter programs.

Solid Ground Transitional provides housing for males ages 16-20 who are experiencing homelessness. Residents can live at Solid Ground for up to two years or until their 21st birthday. The Casa Corazon Emergency Shelter is a drop-in center where pregnant women and their infant and toddler children can obtain services and resources to assist with finding shelter and housing.

A very heartfelt thanks to all the Gary and Chicago team members who donated money and gifts, as well as pitched in and spent their lunch hour together wrapping gifts for the delivery. A very special thank you to Kelly Powers Baria, Claude Powers III and Drew Smith for delivering the gifts to La Casa Norte on a very snowy and blustery day.

Recently, Powers & Sons and La Casa Norte broke ground for the new Pierce House and Community Center. The development of the Pierce House will enable La Casa Norte to double the amount of support services to 4,000 clients across the city each year. Powers & Sons is proud be a part of the project team.
