MCCRORY SENIOR APARTMENTS BREAKS GROUND

City officials, community members, and Brinshore Development broke ceremonial ground on Friday, April 7, on a new five-story senior housing development on Chicago’s Near West Side. The new development will replace 10 vacant lots with 62 affordable-rate units for local seniors earning.  Landon Bone Baker is the project architect.

The senior housing development will be a mix of 40 one-bedrooms and 14 two-bedrooms. Also included are amenities such as a community room, fitness center, 24-seat multimedia theater room, computer room, and an exam room for medical checkups. The building will have structural steel framing with a precast deck, and steel studs and framing. The building’s exterior will feature brick veneer and aluminum panels with a rear patio and front porch seating to provide a better pedestrian experience and a place for residents to gather.

Powers & Sons is the General Contractor for the project. Our team includes Dan O’Laughlin as Project Executive, Scott Brown as Project Manager, David Nicholson as Superintendent, and Aleshia Perkins as Project Engineer. The project is expected to complete in April 2018.
