Committed to Excellence

Since 1967

Throughout the course of the last five decades, successful construction projects and industry awards have profoundly reflected Powers & Sons’ talents and achievements, but our community involvement is a declaration of what our team consistently exemplifies. Contributing to our community as often as possible is a remarkably satisfying feeling and will eternally hold precedence here at Powers & Sons Construction Company.

The goal of Powers & Sons’ community involvement is to advocate and strengthen meaningful community participation by engaging in dialogue and collaborating with community members and organizations, as well as supporting our youth.

Powers & Sons Construction founder, Mamon Powers, Sr. passed down his conviction for young men and women to have the opportunity to obtain an education based on their achievements to his family. This tradition has allowed the Powers family to expose youth to opportunities found within the construction industry and provide them with elements to pursue a career.

Powers & Sons Construction Company and the Powers & Sons Construction Company, Inc. Charitable Gift Foundation have generously donated to the Gary Educational Development Foundation since 1983. Their contributions have endowed two scholarships; The Powers & Sons Construction Company Scholarship and the Leolean Powers Scholarship, which are both renewable for four years. The Powers & Sons Construction Company scholarship is awarded to academically strong students majoring in Construction Management, Construction Technology, or Civil Engineering. The Leolean Powers Scholarship is awarded based on financial need and is not limited by academic major.

Powers & Sons Construction Company also established an IUPUI RISE Diversity Scholarship with the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis. The award of the RISE (Research, International, Service Learning, and Experiential Learning) scholarship gives special consideration to underrepresented populations, including financially challenged students and first-generation college attenders.
