BSU Breaks Ground on New Practice Facility

On Friday, March 31, 2017, Ball State University broke ground on the Dr. Don Shondell Practice Center, the future home of the Cardinals basketball and volleyball programs.

The new $6.4 million practice facility will be an addition to Worthen Arena between Gates One and Two. The 19,000-square-foot addition will have two full-size NCAA regulation basketball and volleyball practice courts, training room, and study room with 27 tiered seats for meetings and game film reviews on the Court Level. The Mezzanine Level will feature two meeting rooms overlooking the practice courts.

Powers & Sons and JV Partner, Messer Construction, were selected to be the Construction Manager as Constructor (CMc) for the new practice facility. Zane Alcorn is serving as the superintendent for the project. Construction is expected to complete in Summer 2018.
